Debt Crisis
This is some serious stuff. Everybody's dragging tail over party issues. Give me a break! The correct solution doesn't belong to a particular party. This is just like marriage, sometimes what works is a compromise, especially when the end is at hand. Everybody get over your Pride and get down to the nitty gritty and get us out of this mess! There's only 4 days left!!!
Sign It already!
What drives me crazy about things like this is it thwarts all the hard work people put into issues like this one. Everybody that can does their part. They finally get the issue put in front of someone to sign it into law and it just sits there and the issue continues to be unresolved and the animals involved continue to go unprotected. We must stop All of the abuse, including neglect of this nature!

Good Friday afternoon to everyone. Sorry, it has been so long since the last post, but as some of you are aware with 4 kids around I don't have much time to breathe let alone time to write.
So, upon coming out of writers exile I discovered this wonderful bit of brilliance! Please note the sarcasm in my tone. Of course, I had to speak my mind or else this would be So She Sits Quietly By While The World Sinks Further Into Delusion!!! I promise to be as polite as possible, but for those of you with racial fears, just don't read this.
I'm not real sure how I came across this article, but upon beginning to read it I thought it would be mildly entertaining and funny. The whole synopsis of this article is to lump people who use the word "Ghetto" into a racist group. Trying to educate everyone on the word's origins and immoral overtones, the writer forgets one vital piece of information. However, upon scrolling down and reading the entire article you finally understand that if the writer had've included the "vital piece of info.," it would have nullified the whole argument and she could not have gotten her message out.
What's the vital piece of info? Well, since she went ahead and got the definition, I will use it here. She defines ghetto as: "a quarter of a city in which members of a minority group live because of social, legal or economic pressure." That's Merriam-Websters version. Most now get there definitions from the "updated" Dictionary.com. Ghetto- a section of a city, esp. a thickly populated slum area, inhabited predominantly by members of an ethnic or other minority group, often as a result of social or economic restrictions, pressures, or hardships. Notice the difference in the two?
Now let's focus on the first, (slum area). That doesn't produce thoughts of nice neighborhoods and education, now does it, or else it would be clean. Certain types of people live in dirty places- lazy, un-educated, and people that get into the dangerous side of life. Now, somebody please point out where I used the term black person. Nothing I just described says black person to me.
Number 2. (predominantly)- that means mainly. So, mainly by members of an ETHNIC or MINORITY GROUP. Now ethnic is a tricky little word. I'll show you why:
I have heard so many people say ethnic means color. *BUZZER* Wrong!!! There's your definitions in black and white. So, sharing a culture, or type of language, or characteristics, or being a member of a group that's a minority w/in a larger society.
Last but not least (as a result): of social or economic restrictions, pressures, or hardships. So this group of people were brought together by hard times, and social and economic issues. Well, that definitely doesn't say black to me because we all know what people labeled as "trailer trash" live in. We all know they don't live there because it's the best place to be. They can't afford better or bigger. And they're white, right? Hispanics live in barrios because they can't afford more. But guess what, narrow minded people? Not all whites live in trailers, not all Hispanics live in barrios, and not all black people live in ghetto's! I used to hang out, in my early teenage years, with friends from a trailer park called Belglade. And guess what we called it... "The Ghetto." Every culture lived there AND it was a trailer park.
So, to sum up that little tirade and word study... Ghetto is a verb AND a descriptive. If anyone has ever had the pleasure of driving through a ghetto they would understand what I am saying. People that live in these neighborhoods have a collective way of doing things...they talk a certain way, they behave a certain way, they act towards there children in a certain way. And guess what? Some people that don't live in these areas act this way....this is called ghetto minded. Why? Ethnic Definition #1. The vital piece of information is people have witnessed certain behavior for years from these places, witnessed certain vehicles, attitudes, language,etc. Nothing that has to do with color whatsoever!
People have been mad for the last 200 years about slavery and prejudice. They say they want this mentality gone and they are trying to do away with racist behavior. Unfortunately, articles like this one will continue to feed racism and prejudice. When a person who is focusing on things such as words that have legitimate definitions and sound completely uneducated because they only half way educated themselves on an issue might as well have no education at all!
Chris Rock said it best, "You may not be a "ho", but you're wearing a ho's uniform." Hey, he's black and he gets it. My Bible says not to judge people to judge their fruit. If you go around sounding uneducated I will think you are. If you go around yelling at your kids and beating them up and down the block I will think you're a bad parent. And if you go around acting exactly like people that are part of a group I will think you belong to that group. It doesn't matter your color, ghetto is ghetto!

What Is Everybody Thinking???
I came across this article in the Clarksville, TN Leaf Chronicle, our local newspaper. I can't even remember what I was searching for, but when I found this it stopped everything. The title alone sends shivers up my spine. We hear in the news and around all the time about the legal systems failures. Yet everyone still puts their faith in the system. After reading this article and experiencing some things of my own, I now believe like a lot of people that there is something really wrong with the way things are set up.
Since I can remember, I was hearing stories about murderers, rapists, etc., being let off the hook due to not being read their Miranda rights, Police not having search warrants when obtaining evidence, and so on and so forth. Will somebody please tell me how and when this became OK! Is evidence not still evidence, is a written, spoken, or signed confession not still a confession? When the entire case hangs on how something was obtained instead of what was obtained, we have gone seriously wrong somewhere.
I read a Facebook page one time that said..."I will no longer be calling it the Justice System, instead it will be called the Legal System." I believe that was dead on! When the system appears to most people to be protecting criminals instead of victims, maybe it's time somebody reassessed the situation. They throw evidence out when proper protocol is not followed involving a suspect, yet I have personally seen agencies not follow proper protocol involving a victim and oh well! The most popular answers are.."Well, I've never done it that way," "It was convenient" (it fit their appointment schedule), and my personal favorite...The ignoring the question and skipping to something else quip.
Is everyone happy with this system? No. Well, then why is it still the same system? People ask for things to change all the time. They ask for better laws, better judges, better punishments...yet the improvements always seem to fit inside the box. I have been asked the same question over and over by people from other states. Why are Tennessee's laws so screwed up? Then they follow it up with I've never heard of such a ridiculous thing from where I live. Well, why are you guys asking me? Ask the people that made these laws and the people that refuse to do something to better them! One person can only do so much. Until there are enough people ready to make a significant change in Tennessee as well as other states and the whole government. People ready to see to it things change. Everybody might as well get used to sounding like a broken record.

Tennessee Wins $501 Million Education Grant
We won!!! Congratulations Tennessee! We won a $501 Million Grant toward improvements on education. Now maybe our schools will start affording our kids some real education. One can only hope it is spent wisely!
On March 30th at 12pm CDT Deputy Governor John Morgan answered questions about what this means for our state’s public schools and our children. Check the homepage often, as a transcript will be available of the conversation.

Remember
Have you seen the movie Gattaca?
It's about a genetically inferior man who assumes the identity of a genetically superior man in order to pursue his lifelong dream of space travel, the story goes on to tell how he manipulates the system to achieve his Life Long Dream.
What happens if the whole world is against you? For those Big dreamers there are always obstacles in life, people will write an encyclopedia on how you simply can't achieve what you want in life.
But the solid truth is it doesn't really matter where you come from, what matters the most is how much do you want to achieve your goals and dreams?.
I received this from a friend the other day informing me of the direction one of our groups would be heading in. It reminded me of something my Dad used to say, "No matter what life throws at you, Baby don't ever lose your dream. If your dream dies, you die!"
I hear people all the time asking the proverbial question... "What is the secret to life?" I am kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to this question. Because on one hand I don't really think there is a secret to life. However, I think the answer is so obvious that it becomes hard for us to remember or pay attention. Humans get distracted very easily what with school, family, work, financial issues, etc. We tend to lose focus on our dreams just from trying to balance life. So in essence the secret to life is their is no secret just remember to hold on to your dreams. Hang on to your determination, perseverance, vision, and never lose focus. Those are the only individuals that make it out of life with their head above the water.
Just thought we could all use some reminding.

WARNING!!! Paypal is UNSAFE!!!!!!!!!

I am writing this so hopefully, it will stop people and save them from mine and other people's Paypal/Ebay HELL!
Several weeks ago I decided to list some Ralph Lauren items on Ebay in hopes of making some money while I was recuperating from having the baby. Well the first sale went through perfectly. No problems! I even learned how to send my own invoice through Paypal.
Then there was a problem with one of the items sold. Several correspondence emails were sent between I and the buyer. They were unhappy with their purchase. So I then informed them of the policy that I have in that if they are dissatisfied they can return the item for a refund minus shipping. This was not satisfactory to them as they wanted me to not only refund all of their money but pay for them to ship it back as well. Of course, that was not going to happen so an agreement could not be reached so 3 days finally passed and they had not agreed to anything so the item became theirs and the refund was no longer available.
Well, they decided to report the issue to Paypal, which was fine with me because I knew I was complying with Ebay's policies as well as our agreement. So I responded to Paypal's request. Sent them my side of the story as well as emails and the original Ebay posting that showed the 3 day rule. Paypal turns around without giving me fair warning and grants them a refund of their money pending they return the item 2 me within 2 weeks. I was livid!! On top of that they gave no reason for their decision and the buyer hadn't offered any proof for their side. Now move forward to today. July 2nd, supposedly is the date they have to return the item by and nothing. So we shall see if they refund my money.
Now to add to that I contacted Paypal several times trying to get information and nothing. I told them in one email if they did not return my money I would report them to Ebay for violating policies. Still nothing.
On top of the ridiculousness when the 2 people purchased items from me they paid through an Ebay sent invoice instead of the ones I sent through Paypal. I go to collect my funds and have them transfered to my bank account and for some reason I Cant! They are on temporary hold. Well how does that happen? Apparently unless you hve a certain number of transactions as a seller on Ebay, Paypal holds your funds. This was my first sell. So all the money was just sitting in Paypal's account until 21 days after payment has been made or the tracking info was posted to Paypal. I found out about the latter after I had mailed the packages and had no tracking info. So I had to wait. Which was real nice being that the money that was on hold contained the shipping money. So I paid that out of pocket. Now that Paypal is refunding their money, the shipping is included. How is that possible when my policy states all money will be refunded minus shipping?
Now you take all that into consideration and add: I contacted Paypal after the 21 days of having one person's money on hold so they decided to release it into my account. A week after this occured the peron files a claim with Paypal and after Paypal had released the money to me because it had been that long Paypal took the money out of my Paypal account leaving it in the negative. They want me to put more money in there so it won't be negative! HA WHATEVER!! That will be a cold day in HELL!
You might think I am being unreasonable. So I have posted websites to prove my story. I thought these were just websites advertising a different/alternative method to Paypal. You know, their competition. Unfortunately, for all of us non researching before hand dumb dumbs, it's actual accounts of real happenings while using these sites, Ebay/ Paypal.
And now for the kicker. Recall earlier I mentioned in an email I was going to report Paypal to Ebay for violating Ebay's policies. Ya ready?..... EBAY.....OWNS.....PAYPAL!!!!!! That's right they are violating their own policies through a company they own.
Please read the websites, and definitely if nothing else read about the main lawsuit against them. It's an eye opener. I have no idea what auction site or payment methods I will be going through from here on out. But I can promise you it won't be Ebay or Paypal!!!
However, rest easily if you are a buyer! You can bid on an item, win it, pay for it...your money will be kept safely in Paypal's account, once you receive it you can send it back a year later and still get all your money back for it. Including the shipping you paid to receive it. There is no telling if I will get my money back or if I will ever see my items ever again.

I cant do a wrong I cant speak at all
Or else im locked up All day long.
When im awake im all alone
The house is dark my folks aren't home
When my mommy does come home
I'll try and be nice, So maybe ill just get
One whipping tonight. I just heard a car
My daddy is back From Charlies bar
I hear him curse My name is called
I press myself Against the wall
I try to hide From his evil eyes
Im so afraid now I'm starting to cry
He finds me weeping Calls me ugly words,
He says its my fault He suffers at work
He slaps and hits me And yells at me more,
I finally get free And run to the door
Hes already locked it And I start to bawl,
He takes me and throws me Against the hard wall
I fall to the floor With my bones nearly broken,
And my daddy continues With more bad words spoken,
"Im sorry!", I scream But its now much to late
His face has been twisted Into a unimaginable shape
The hurt and the pain Again and again
O please God, have mercy! O please let it end!
And he finally stops And heads for the door
While I lay there motionless Sprawled on the floor
My name is Chris I am three,
Tonight my daddy Murdered me.
And you can help .Sickens me to the soul,
And if you read this and don't pass it on
I pray for your forgivness Because you would have to be
One heartless person To not be affected
By this Poem And because U R affected,
Do something about it! So all i ask you to do
Is pass this on! IF YOU ARE AGAINST CHILD ABUSE!
There's never any excuse for any type of abuse. But child abuse is the most disheartening of them all. The little ones that depend on us for their protection are endangered daily. Left to deal with these situations all by themselves. They have no one else to save them but those that are aware of these ordeals. Do something for a small one, and send this to as many people as you know. The best way to protect our future is to protect our children!!!

Thus generating revenue for us which we can spare a little for the sites that helped us get our customers. | Current mood:  anxious Category: Pets and Animals Ok guys, this is the first blog I've done so bare with me. As some of you know, I happen to be an activist for the animal community. Since they don't have a voice, someone has to stand up for them. As time goes on and I figure out how all of these websites work I will post more news and websites to check out, when you find the time. This is not a plea for donations for the sites. However, if that's how you want to help then by all means do. I just think it's time I started helping out many of my friends on another site that work themselves to the bone trying to save our furbabies from abuse and untimely deaths. The site I mention is Care2.com This is not just a site to save animals, it is an activist site for anything and everything you may be passionate about. Whether political, or human abuse, civil rights, land saving, anything you think is important, is important on Care2. So please check it out and if you want your own homepage for whatever you want to speak out about, it's free. No I'm not getting comped for this "plug". Again I reiterate, this is a website everyone should see and help only if you want. Alot of times you can help more by signing petitions and getting the word out than giving an annual $10. This just goes to show that we can all do our parts to help out. Just by telling someone about a site could inevitably save a life, animal as well as human. Please do your part to find your niche in our society. Don't stand by when you could be the one who saves someone or something. We all can in our own way. 1st Edition
Anyone, who has wandered into my world now...I know what you're thinking. Why am I here and where, exactly, is here?
Well, I can't tell you why you're here and if I need to you should probably put the bottle down or go to bed, because it's way past time for logical reasoning. This place might actually mess up your brain patterns if you are not fully awake!
Now as for where is here. Here is where I divulge what rambles through my mind on a daily basis. Here is where I do my best to help you realize...There is something else you and I should be doing. We all pretty much rely on each other for our quality of life. Here is where you come to ponder just how much what we all do affects each other and then...hopefully...eventually....come out on top. With a better life.
If not, oh well, I said my piece and I feel better.
Now please expect everything from happy to sad...Activism, Points to Ponder, Business Info, and sometimes what my father liked to call just Pissed Off Itis! Please feel free to comment or contact me, check out my other sites, get involved, whatever. I'm pretty much open to anything. So, I hope we all enjoy this and will for many years to come!!!
